Holly is a 4 year old dunn Marsh Tacky mare. She is a pleasure to ride and, like most tackies, was a pleasure to train. I am by no means a horse trainer, but when I got Holly, I simply put a saddle on her, did some ground work, and very easily started riding. After a couple of rides in the pasture, it was time for her first hog hunt. Now, she is a top notch hog hunting horse. When she hears the dogs baying, she points her ears in that direction, and all I have to do is hang on. She has been so tangled up in vines that,I promise you, she was suspended off the ground with me in the saddle. But, somehow she wiggles her way free and away we go.
In February 2009, Holly finished first place overall at the Marsh Tacky Race on Hilton Head Island. Holly was ridden by my close friend David Grant.
We are expecting the arrival of Holly's second baby in Late May or June, sired by David Grants' stallion, DP. http://www.carolinamarshtacky.com/
